It’s no secret that Chicago Volvo fans love the all-new 2011 Volvo S60.  With so much success, developers at Volvo Cars are building off of the S60 model to create an even sportier and more dynamic car.  The result of this work has developed the Volvo S60 R-Design, which is sure to impress Chicago Volvo drivers.

To take things up a notch for the next model of the S60, the team at Volvo Cars has worked to further refine small details of the car and Chicago Volvo dealer Volvo of Lisle can’t wait to see the new car.

The chassis team fitting what is known as a strut brace under the bonnet to stiffen the structure which will help make the steering feel even more responsive with its contact to the road.

The Volvo S60 R-Design features a new Corner Traction Control system to make driving around curves even smoother.  Corner Traction Control is a new feature that uses torque vectoring to make for smoother cornering. The technology is a further refinement of the Dynamic Stability and Traction Control (DSTC) anti-spin system.  When taking a curve, the car’s inner wheel is braked so more power is transferred to the outer wheel, which allows a tighter line in the curve and reduces understeering.

The DSTC system has several functions that improve driving and keep Chicago Volvo drivers safe, including Advanced Stability Control and Engine Drag Control.  It also has a sports setting that allows a driver to drive more actively.

Chicago Volvo S60 R-Design

Styling of the Volvo S60 R-Design has been upgraded both inside and out as well for Chicago Volvo drivers.

On the exterior, the cars feature a redesigned front with a grille painted in glossy piano black.  Small details will help make the car stand out on the road, including a matte special finish and a hexagonal pattern that is repeated both front and rear. Twin exhaust tailpipes and unique five-spoke 18-inch Diamond cut wheels emphasize sportiness.  The car will be introduced in a striking Passion Red and is also available in seven other colors.

Chicago Volvo drivers will love the sport-infused interior completes the car.  The driver and front passenger sit in sports seats with all-new seat cushions that shape themselves to the occupants.  The interior is fitted with special leather/textile upholstery that is available in different colors with stylish contrasting stitching. The interior also features a special steering wheel, gear selector, sports pedals and floor-mats.

“This car has been specially developed for buyers who want to put their very own stamp on their car. And with R-Design, we are attracting a younger target group. We aim to win over one-third of the R-design customers from competing brands,” says Paul Welander.
